My Inspiration for IS TODAY THE DAY!

Dear Friends,

I am mighty excited about this new blog site and really think it will be fun following friends, and allowing them to follow me as well. Since this is my first blog, I find it only appropraite to tribute it to my whole reason for starting to in the first place, and that is my cousin Charlie Watt White. As you will notice the site name is "IS TODAY THE DAY". I will never forget the concern and panic in my mothers voice as she left me a voicemail early on the morning of August 18th, 2010. She informed me my cousin had been in a serious skateboard accident and had been sent to Norfolk general in need of further medical attention. PRAY!! She screamed just before hanging up. Although I didnt think a skateboard injury could be so serious, I obeyed and got on my knees right away and began to lift up prayers for my friend. The next few days were spent in a state of mind I cant really explain. I guess the word to describe it would be surreal, which in general terms means bizzare or "dreamlike". I continued praying to the great physician for the next 24 hours that my cousins injuries would be easily recoverable, within a short time period. As I do everytime I pray asking for something, I concluded by saying not my will but yours be done. On Friday August 20th, my cousin Charlie went to spend eternity in heaven with his Lord and Savior. I never thought to pray for his life, because I couldnt imagine someone so young, vibrant, healthy, and full of life to be taken away.

Over the last few months I have spent so much time considering is today my day? When accidents like this happen, we are forced to evaluate our relationships both earthly and non. I think about my cousin daily, and I am thankful for the life he lived which is so inspiring to me. It is my prayer that when I am called to be with the Lord, whether 50 years from now or today, that I am as prepared as my dear cousin Charlie. ALL my relationships have grown fonder and stronger since the accident, and that is what I choose to focus on.

I conclude this post wishing all the readers to consider "IS TODAY THE DAY". It is impearative to live everyday of our life prepared for whatever we may experience.
